The Orange
County Sheriffs Department is offering a Vehicle Theft for Patrol /
Traffic Officers Class:
The sixteen hour P.O.S.T. certified class is designed to give the in-field officer a better understanding of methods used by thieves and to be able to better recognize VIN switched vehicles. Four hours of the class are practical application time at a local tow yard. The class will be held at the OCSD Katella Training

| The Los Angeles Police Department
will be presenting the 5-day Institute of Criminal Investigation (ICI)
Vehicle
Theft Investigation Course for police investigators/detectives.
The course will be presented at the Automobile Club of Southern California
in Gardena, and the General Motors Training Center located in Burbank.
The course is certified under POST Plan III, tuition reimbursement.
The tuition is $208 per student. POST Control Number: 1850-30190

| The California
Highway Patrol will be presenting several sessions of their Vehicle
Theft Investigation Course in 2004. The purpose of these training
courses is to impart operational knowledge and guidelines for activities
relating to the investigation of vehicle theft.
The course consists of 40 hours of training certified by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) as part of their Institute of Criminal Investigation (ICI), and the $251 tuition is reimbursable under POST Plan III. January 19 - January 23, 2004
