ANNUAL TRAINING SEMINAR
NOVEMBER 7-10, 1999
MONTEREY BEACH HOTEL
SEASIDE, CALIFORNIA
The 1999 Training Seminar was
held at the Monterey Beach Hotel in Seaside, California. The seminar
was hosted by the Central Chapter of WSATI.
The training included: Farm and
Construction Equipment Identification; the Role between
Special Investigation Units and
Police; Vehicle Label Markings; Vehicle Theft Information and the Internet;
Current Vehicle Theft Trends; Harley Davidson Motorcycle Identification;
Prosecuting Insurance Fraud; Fraudulent Applications on New Vehicles; and
Digital ImagingTechnology.
Besides the 16 hours of training,
there was the opportunity to play golf, network with other investigators,
and to attend the annual banquet.
One of our own was recognized
for his many, many years of service as a vehicle theft investigator / sergeant...
OCATT's very own CHP Sergeant "Fritz" Grimsley won the prestigious (Washington
State Patrol) Trooper James E. Gain Award.
