The Los Angeles Police Department and the IAATI Western Regional
Chapter On-site Committee would like to welcome you to the Warner
Center Marriott for the 2003 IAATI Training Seminar.
This newsletter will be distributed daily during the seminar in an
effort to keep you up to date with what is taking place during the seminar.
The first event will occur at 7:30 am on Sunday morning, the IAATI
Golf Tournament being held at the Cascades in Sylmar. A shuttle van
will be available at 7 am in front of the hotel. If you need a ride,
sign the clipboard at the hotel lobby desk.
Registration will take place on Sunday beginning at 12:00 pm, continuing
until 5:00 pm. If you do not have the opportunity to register prior
to 5:00 pm, registration will again take place on Monday morning between
6:30 am and 8:00 am. It is very important that you have your photo
taken during the registration period. Access to some classes will
be limited to credentialed attendees. The photo ID card will assist
us with our security efforts.

The Los Angeles Police Department and the IAATI Western Regional
Chapter On-site Committee would like to welcome you to the Warner
Center Marriott for the 2003 IAATI Training Seminar.
There was a lot of behind the scenes activity taking place yesterday
with members of the On-site Committee working late into the night to bring
you a great Seminar. There was also the 3-hour multiple SUV filled
hospitality room run for goodies. The hospitality room is being hosted
by LoJack and will be open nightly, manned by Ziggy and Charlie.
The first event of the Seminar took place this morning, the IAATI
Golf Tournament at the Cascades in Sylmar. Thanks to all the efforts
by Bill Lovold and Pete Briones.
Registration took place today from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. If
you did not have the opportunity to register prior to 5:00 pm, registration
will again take place on Monday morning between 6:30 am and 8:00 am.
It is very important that you have your photo taken during the registration
period. Access to some classes will be limited to credentialed attendees. |
The photo ID card will assist us with oursecurity
efforts.
Tonight will be the Presidential Reception taking place in the Pool
area of the hotel at 6 pm.

The Los Angeles Police Department and the IAATI Western Regional
Chapter On-site Committee would like to welcome you to the Warner
Center Marriott for the 2003 IAATI Training Seminar.
Last night we enjoyed the great food and beverages that were available
at the Presidential Reception. It gave everyone the opportunity to
meet new people or to renew old friendships.
Continuing nightly has been the hospitality suites (1737 and 1738)
hosted by LoJack and manned by those ever present bartenders, Ziggy and
Charlie.
Today was the official start of the Training Seminar. The Seminar
had many guest dignitaries as well as some fantastic instructors.
We would like to thank Sharon Nelson of Card Integrators for supplying
the equipment that allowed us to produce our photo ID cards in a very quick

The photo ID card will assist us with our security efforts. A reminder,

Last night the attendees were treated to a great barbecue put on
by the Santa Maria Barbecue Company of Culver City.
During the barbecue, Allstate Insurance and NICB put on a car stripping
demonstration using a Honda. If you blinked you missed a door or
a fender flying off.
Earlier today, attendees were treated to a Southern California tradition,
In-N-Out Burgers. Now everyone should know what a double-double burger
is all about.
The hospitality suites (1737 and 1738) hosted by LoJack continued
to be a popular location to meet people and share stories. Say thanks
to those fabulous bartenders, Ziggy and Charlie.

Yesterday the attendees once again had a full day of classes.
The instructors, from all over the United States, presented topics ranging
from new technology to the old ways of identifying vehicles.
If you had the opportunity, Tom Keeley of Autovu Technologies, was
taking attendees for a ride in his company van. He was giving a demonstration
on how his license plate capturing software/hardware worked.

2003 IAATI Training Seminar at the Warner Center Marriott.
This week you had the opportunity to see some of the best instructors
in the nation present topics that effect us all. I believe we will
all leave the Seminar with more knowledge of vehicle theft than when we
arrived.
Tonight will be the annual Seminar banquet.
Tomorrow will be the last 3-hour block of instruction in the morning,
with the Seminar concluding at 11:45 am.
The hospitality suites (1737 and 1738) hosted by LoJack will have
their final rounds poured tonight by your newest, best friends Ziggy and
Charlie.
