Scholarship Program for the 2018 WSATI Conference
South Lake Tahoe, October 8-10, 2018

The Western States Auto Theft Investigator Association (WSATI) is an organization comprised of law enforcement, insurance companies, prosecutors and the National Insurance Crime Bureau. WSATI members are spread throughout California and are divided into three chapters.  The Northern Chapter includes the Northern California Area and Nevada.  All members are united in the interest of the arrest and conviction of persons involved in various types of auto theft related crimes including arson and insurance fraud involving vehicles.  WSATI, Northern Chapter, implemented a scholarship program to assist its members with tuition fees and conference costs.
The scholarship program is part of WSATI’s ongoing effort to enhance the education of law enforcement auto theft investigators and insurance company special investigators in Northern California. The scholarship program was developed from WSATI’s commitment to minimize, reduce and prevent auto theft related crimes.  WSATI scholarships will be limited to current WSATI members and intended for WSATI sponsored classes, conferences and training opportunities.
The following criteria will be considered for scholarships: Successful auto theft investigations, insurance fraud investigations, auto theft suppression efforts and auto theft recovery efforts. Scholarships will be awarded on a limited basis. Amounts of scholarships will be determined by the Committee based upon available funds. Applications and scholarships will not be awarded based on sex, age, creed, national origin, religious preference or any other factor.
The funding for the WSATI Scholarship Program will come from WSATI members, and corporate sponsors. WSATI is a tax exempt, non-profit, public support foundation under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. All contributions are tax deductible and all contributions will be awarded to selected applicants.  The Scholarship Committee is comprised of four voluntary members who are appointed by the WSATI President. The Committee is responsible for soliciting contributions to the scholarship fund, enlisting applicants, awarding the scholarships and monitoring the scholarships.
Please complete and submit the linked Scholarship Application by September 1, 2018.
