INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION
SOUTHERN CHAPTER
TRAINING MEETING / LUNCHEON

March 17, 2011 - Covina Woman's Club - Covina

2011 WSATI Southern Chapter President Dave Petrelli (Workmen's Auto Insurance SIU) welcomed everyone to the meeting.

WSATI Southern Chapter Vice President Tim Glover (LASD TRAP) then led the group in the pledge of allegiance.

Dave then introduced the other 2011 WSATI Southern Chapter Officers who were in attendance at the meeting; Vice President Tim Glover (LASD/TRAP), Treasurer Tim Jackson (AAA Southern California SIU), Sergeant-At-Arms Aristeed Powell (DMV Investigations - Artesia), Past President John Bartolone (DMV Investigations - Artesia), and Legal Counsel Richard Knapp (Knapp Law Firm, LLP).

Dave then asked the WSATI Southern Chapter Past Presidents in attendance to stand up and introduce themselves to the attendees: Bill Robertson (1988), Skip Davidson (1991), Dave Dempsey (1998), Gary Labb (2000), Bill Lovold (2001), Lou Koven (2002), Rick Greenwood (2008), Jim Williams (2009), and John Bartolone (2010).

Dave then requested that current IAATI 4th Vice President Rick Greenwood (Riverside PD) come up to the podium.  Rick said that beside being the 2008 WSATI Southern Chapter President, he was also the 2009 IAATI Western Regional Chapter President and their current Treasurer.  He said that The IAATI WRC had created a new "Name Badge" for their officers and wanted to present the new IAATI WRC Officer name badges to three Past Presidents, Dave Petrelli (2006), Gary Labb (2007), and Skip Davidson (2008). Each was called up to the podium and presented his IAATI WRC Past President name badge.  Rick then called up IAATI WRC Legal Counsel Richard Knapp and presented him with his name badge.  Rick had Bud Hood's 2011 1st Vice President name tag but unfortunately Bud could not attend the meeting.

Dave then introduced the first guest speaker, Richard Knapp (Knapp Law Firm, LLP), who gave a presentation on the "Benefits of Shared Information Between Insurance / Law Enforcement."

Dave then introduced the second guest speaker, Investigator John Bartolone (DMV Investigations - Artesia), who gave a presentation on "Everything You Wanted to Know About DMV Resources and Were Afraid to Ask."

Following the presentations, lunch was served to the attendees by the Covina Woman's Club.

Following lunch, WSATI Southern Chapter Treasurer Tim Jackson (AAA Southern California) conducted the raffle.  There were a lot of great raffle prizes.  Aristeed Powell (DMV Investigations - Artesia) and Victor Valdez (AAA Southern California) assisted Tim with the raffle.  Again, it appeared that those who bought extra raffle tickets did the best, right Rick.  Some of the raffle prizes included WSATI Southern Chapter shirts.   To see some of the available shirts, please go to WSATIWear.  Please contact Rob Manning at his listed email address for current availability and pricing on the shirts.
