|Dave started with CSAA IIB on November 29, 1972 as
a claims representative at the San Pablo office as a field representative.
Before coming to CSAA IIB Dave was with the United States Army. In
the ensuing 34 years, he held many positions within the claims organization
at CSAA IIB, including Claims and Bodily Injury Manager, before reaching
his current position as Manager of the SIU. Dave leaves an outstanding
legacy within CSAA and the industry as a whole, having worked in some capacity
with many of us, and sharing his knowledge with those fortunate enough
to have known him. We knew Dave as an exceptional leader, progressive
in his ideas, and adept at converting those ideas into practical solutions.
At CSAA IIB Dave was instrumental in building one of the finest SIU organizations in the industry. He was influential in CSAA IIB's recent expansion into other states by providing resources, networking and fraud and arson training to CSAA IIB and industry personnel. He was one of CSAA IIB's principal industry liaisons, serving on the California Department of Insurance's Fraud Advisory Board, the National Insurance Crime Bureau's Western Regional Advisory Board, the Nevada Insurance Council, and assisting other important agencies in the State of California. Among his many accomplishments, Dave was a presenter at the Pacific Claims Executive Association conference, and the 2006 recipient of the Western States Auto Theft Investigators (Northern Chapter) prestigious Al Weatherman Award.
Dave's co-workers and other contacts in the industry have a deep respect for his personal integrity. That integrity has greatly influenced his entire department, which leads the way in protecting its policyholders against insurance fraud. His influence will remain with us throughout our careers.
